I’m Alexander Guliaev. Growing up in a family with a strong math and computer science background, I was always captivated by how math could solve real-world problems. In high school and university, I dove deep into applied mathematics and even majored in Mathematical Models of Macroeconomics and Business. I was always puzzled — and excited — about using those models to help make the kinds of business decisions that aren’t obvious at first glance. During my teenage and early adulthood years, I ran several businesses — I bought and sold medical equipment, lobsters, and cigarettes, and I provided real estate services for entrepreneurs and investors.
